When I first read that beeswax candles burn at a rate of one hour per inch, I thought it was bullshit, tbh.
My experience with tapers up to that point had been "I WANNA BE ELEGANT AND REGENCY AND MAGICAL!!!" and it works, for like fifteen minutes—but you know what's not elegant and Regency and magical? Chipping a foot-long wax stream off a wooden table. Trying to figure out how to get wax off an antique silver taper holder. Trying to get colored wax off a carpet. Kill. Me.
I refused to give up though, because tapers ARE elegant and Regency and magical and romantic and a whole bunch of other things. So when I discovered this small batch producer of pure 100% beeswax candles (all hand-dipped!) in Colorado I thought it was time to try again...and BOY do they live up to my wildest dreams:
Burn for about an hour per inch, giving the BEST VALUE in taper candles anywhere
Burn DRIPLESS (kept out of a draft)
Low to no soot (100% cotton wick)
Richly colored all the way through
I've been inventing excuses to light them ever since.
